As the last official full month of summer, August always bums me out and excites me all at the same time. It marks the end of the hot, relaxing days of summer, and it's always sad to see the days get shorter and the mornings get much darker. However, I do love the prospect of the weather beginning to cool, the leaves changing color, and the amazing fashion that is to come!
Knowing this is the last month of the hottest days, I like to focus on transitional clothing that can easily be taken from 90° to 75° days.

An essential shirt, this simple three-quarter sleeve tee will pair great with shorts or denim. Add a statement necklace for summer, or a pretty scarf for fall.
The black-and-navy combination screams fall, but I would love these to pair with a bright white dress for August! (Paired with some great gold jewelry, of course.)
Let's be honest - leopard print is always in style. They're shorts, so they work for summer, but the dark olive green makes these a great transitional piece. I'd pair these with a black silk blouse and pumps for a night out with the girls.
